Why Mosaics?
Mosaic is among the first art forms, surviving for thousands of years from ancient Mesopotamia to Pompei. It is a unique art, offering unmatched durability and vibrancy. Unlike other mediums, mosaics can withstand the harshest outdoor conditions, ensuring that they maintain the beauty for generations to come.
This is an extraordinary time for the innovation in arts, when new products such as dichroic glass can be blended with the traditional, like bronze or Venetian smalti mosaics to create truly unique, low-maintenance and long-lasting works of art.
Using many of the same time-honored techniques that were employed with the great Roman and Greek mosaics that remain with us to this day, we strive for a level of excellence that will bring enormous pride to our communities and to all who participate.
What We Do
Farallon Design’s projects are as diverse as the communities we work with. Some of our most notable works include the "Ocean Nomads" mural in Barrio Logan, a vibrant and intricate piece that drew profound reactions from the local community, and a mosaic tiger sculpture made from jasper, agates, and various stones, celebrated for its artistic innovation.
